A Girl You Should Date

December 21st, 2011 § Leave a Comment

Date a girl who reads. Date a girl who spends her money on books instead of clothes. She has problems with closet space because she has too many books. Date a girl who has a list of books she wants to read, who has had a library card since she was twelve. « Read the rest of this entry »

On feelings…

There is this boy that I can’t seem to shake. I have only been with him for 4 days. Not even full days. Come to think of it, if I need to sum it up in hours, I have only been with him for 24 hours. A full day. « Read the rest of this entry »

on that boy from a lifetime ago…

December 10th, 2011 § 2 Comments

This entry started out with an entry about someone that I currently fancy. However, since this is a blog that is about me (about Fernando Torres mostly but supposedly about me), I’d like to write briefly about the boy from a lifetime ago.

You see, for all of university and a few years after, I was very much in love with this boy. I was with him for a good few years, too. It didn’t end well and I was devastated. It has been a long while since that ended. There were days then that I thought I wasn’t going to be happy again.

I have forgotten it all, if you can believe it. Every single detail of him I have already lost in the last few years. What’s left now, really, is a standard.  Like: will I ever like anyone as much as I liked him then?

The answer is finally: yes.

On things I collect…

Thank you to friends who managed to get me these key rings from all sorts of places.

Clockwise – from Carlyn’s New York trip, Jenny’s London vaca, Joey who bought fake Eiffels but got me the real one, and Lyudmyla who gave me this Madrid one today. <3 Gracias mil!

There are only two kinds of people in the end (C.S. Lewis)

October 16th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

Never fear. There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, “Thy will be done,” and those to whom God says, in the end, “Thy will be done.” All that are in Hell, choose it. Without that self-choice there could be no Hell. No soul that seriously and constantly desires joy will ever miss it. Those who seek find. To those who knock it is opened.
~C.S. Lewis, The Great Divorce, Chapter 9 (1946)

writing again

September 28th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

I find that I am able to write again. Not saying what I’ve been writing is good. Just that I have not written in years, and now it’s back. What a pleasant surprise.

Thankful for two things: the writing project that I started with a good old friend of mine; and um menino. Obrigada.

Fíjate cuánto te ha dado Dios (San Agustin)

August 20th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

On forgiving…

Forgiveness does not change the past nor does it make you forget the deep hurt inflicted upon you. Rather it opens up a whole new world of fruitful possibilities to rebuild broken relationships, to heal deep wounds , and to enable growth to fully take its course.

On my week with Fernando Torres (aka Chelsea FC in Hong Kong) part 2

August 15th, 2011 § 7 Comments

July 28

To go or not to go was always a question for al those days that Chelsea were in Hong Kong. To go or not to go because for one thing, I never knew their schedule. Secondly, the hotel was on the other island whcih meant really expensive cab rides if i stayed too late, or basically, really expensive rides getting there. But Tumblr has shown some pictures of Torres signing by the entrance of the hotel (which i already knew the night before) so I decided to go right after work. Ridiculous, this day. « Read the rest of this entry »
